It seems I have been missing in action for quite some time around here. I’m hoping to put a change to that even if my postings are sporadic at best.

cool. i would love to learn more......... i had no IDEA acorns and red cabbage would even leave a color........ you have amazing knowledge please share with me! i want to start doing this, and eventually have a lamb, goat, and alpaca! :) go on, pLEASE divulge dilvuge DivuLge! i want to know all about this!!!

Last week I grabbed two skeins of Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool while it was still on sale at Joann’s. When experimenting with different natural dye colors I like to use a more inexpensive yarn first and test my results on it before I go forward dyeing up some of my nicer yarns. These two skeins I divided up into 2 ounce hanks. They are now ready to be soaked and have a mordant applied to them which I will explain in Step Two.
