knit with naturally dyed yarns
I used marigolds grown from the garden and annatto seeds.

Last week I grabbed two skeins of Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool while it was still on sale at Joann’s. When experimenting with different natural dye colors I like to use a more inexpensive yarn first and test my results on it before I go forward dyeing up some of my nicer yarns. These two skeins I divided up into 2 ounce hanks. They are now ready to be soaked and have a mordant applied to them which I will explain in Step Two.

Don’t know what has possessed me to start up yet another blog but here goes. I’ve been wanting to devote a blog strictly to natural dyes, fibers, and knitting/crocheting. Thought I would give Tumblr a try….
